Yesterday residents of Burritt Mountain on Lewis Smith Lake were treated to Smith Lake Jake’s prediction for our spring arrival. The local legendary groundhog took a big stretch, emerged from his hole and donned his top hat to greet his fans! After much pomp and circumstance, Jake unfortunately predicted six more weeks of winter. Bill Murray was not on-hand to comment on the prediction. Sorry folks, six more weeks of Alabama lakefront winter!
